Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar (DAYS) has been an annual attraction for young people interested in international politics and security ever since its launch in the 80s. Together with The Danish Atlantic Council (ATA) we strive to address contemporary security issues.
DAYS – Danish Youth Atlantic Seminar – is returning to give you a chance to learn more about the challenges facing NATO with youth from NATO and NATO Partnership countries.
This year DAYS will take different form than previously. Due to the present COVID-19 situation, we have decided to host DAYS 2021 in two phases– one entirely online, and another physical.
Online DAYS – 27th – 29th of September 2021
For the initial phase of DAYS hosted online, the program is centered around NATO and the challenges currently facing the alliance. The main topics of the three-day seminar is NATO and Joe Biden’s United States of America, the security situation to NATO’s north, east and south and emerging threats challenging NATO respectively.
Physical DAYS – 27th – 29th of October 2021
The second phase of DAYS will be held on Svanemøllen Barracks (Svanemøllens Kaserne) and Frederiksberg Palace (Frederiksbergslot) in Copenhagen and be initiated with a day focusing on the Arctic, where four different presenters will host presentations on security policies concerning the Arctic region. On the second day, we invite you to participate in a fieldtrip to meet Danish decision-makers. As it is custom, a farewell dinner will be held, and those who desire will have the possibility to stay the weekend in Copenhagen and further explore the city on their own.
In order to apply for DAYS, you must fill in the application form linked to below. The deadline for applying is the 20th of August. We will contact the invitees shortly thereafter with practical information. If selected, the applicant must pay the participation fee before 31st of August. The fee is 80€ and covers accommodation in Copenhagen breakfast, lunch and two dinners (Wednesday 27 October and Friday 29 October). Transport to and from Copenhagen is not included.
Please note: the application will be for both the online and the physical part of the seminar.
We look forward to receiving your applications and greeting you – both physical and online – for our exciting DAYS 2021.
